I was on a camping trip with one of my bridesmaids for her daughters first birthday (which was exactly a year from our wedding date) in Leicestershire, England when we decided for a bit of fun, let's find a local wedding shop and try on dresses. Alice Rose Bridal in Ashby-de-la-Zouch thankfully had availability! I told them I was getting married in a forest chapel in South Africa, to think 'Forest Fairy' and I needed to be able to dance to Cotton Eyed Joe in my dress. I tried on a few dresses first but when I tried on the Eddy K dress called Calinda, I knew instantly she was the one! She was so light and freeing, I felt so beautiful, The 3D flowers, the touch of sparkle, the unique colour undertones and the detailing at the back of the dress - She was PERFECT. And of course, the ultimate test; can I dance to Cotton Eyed Joe....and away I went, dancing around the fitting room to my favourite childhood song I had with my Dad. Everyone joining in, laughing and smiling! It truly was the most magical experience! From that day on, I couldn't stop thinking about Calinda. Every dress I tried on afterwards, I'd compare to her. So I knew I had to make one last trip to Alice Rose Bridal to bring her home to where she belonged. - Nikki
