I went into dress shopping thinking I wanted something completely different, something more classic and simple. I tried on so many gowns in that style, and nothing felt quite right. By my second appointment, I had probably tried on close to 20 dresses and was starting to feel really frustrated.
Then I noticed another bride trying on a lace gown, which was something I had not considered at all, and my stylist pulled a few similar options. The dress I ultimately chose was actually hidden behind another one, but the moment I saw it on the hanger, I started to tear up. Once I put it on, I was fully crying, and at that point I knew it was the one.
On my wedding day, I felt incredible wearing it. It is honestly the most beautiful dress I have ever seen, though I may be a little biased.
For any bride still searching, my biggest advice is to stay open-minded. I initially gravitated toward dresses I had seen on Instagram or that were very on trend, but they did not feel like me, or they did not feel special because I had already seen them on so many other brides. Anne celebrated a romantic Lake Como destination wedding at the legendary Villa del Balbianello in Tremezzo, Italy, followed by a sunset reception at the lakeside Hotel La Darsena.
